Perspective Matters

This past October, I made the choice to join the team at Home Health & Hospice as a weekend Intake RN. At the time, I did this for a few reasons...

💥 My full tome job during the week did not require me to be a Registered Nurse, and I wanted to maintain hours so that I could maintain my RN license.
💥 As I worked through a transitional period in my personal life, the extra money would be a huge help.
💥As I interviewed and met people at this organization, they were all KIND, POSITIVE, ENCOURAGING, and FOCUSED on the idea of “giving back” to the local community.

I felt EXCITED about this opportunity🙌🏻

But as I started to share with people that I would now be working on Sundays, I heard things like...

🤔 Why would you give up your Sundays?
😳You’re doing WHAT? That’s gonna suck! You’re already so busy!
😱OMG! You’ll miss the Patriots games!
...you get the gist😉

Well, I’m happy to share that it’s been about five months now with only one Sunday off and several Saturdays worked along the way and this journey has been FREAKIN FANTASTIC💫

Because as @inkyjohnsonmotivate says, “How we view what we do affects how we do what we do.”

Working the weekend may sound horrible to some, but from my viewpoint, I GET TO...
💕Earn extra income for my family
💕 Be surrounded by an exceptional team of awesomeness (shout out to my girls in Intake who are ROCKSTARS!)
💕Maintain my RN license
...and most importantly...
💕I GET TO help others and give back to my community in this role. 💕

From my view, I AM LUCKY.

Whether you’re an athlete, an entrepreneur, a stay at home Mom, working full time in corporate America, or anything and everything in between, think about how YOU view what YOU do.

Sometimes all we need is a one degree shift in perspective to see how truly lucky we are✨
