To Get Better, Run With the Best

When I was getting back into running after having one of my little loves and I wanted to train again, I decided to join a group of runners in Bedford thanks to my friend Nicolasa. Little did I know, they were FAST⚡️⚡️⚡️

I remember the first few runs with them being way behind, everyone waiting at the corners for me to catch up. I remember struggling, sweating, cursing under my breath, pushing myself to the max to try and close the gap as best I could 😓

💥 I felt SO SLOW💥My face was SO RED💥I was SO TIRED by the end of the runs...but I kept going back each weekend to run with them again💥

After several weeks, I noticed something was happening. The distance between me and the group was getting shorter. I was getting faster. My face was getting less red. I was still cursing 😜, but I could see progress. I felt SO GOOD.

Eventually, I was running with them, some weeks even at the front of the pack😳

You see, I was forced to get faster because everyone around me was faster!

This group of exceptional humans welcomed me back every week, waited for me at the corners, pushed me. Their energy, drive, support, and positivity helped me to get faster. They were lifting me up🙌🏻

Over the past six months or so, I have been blessed to connect with so many strong individuals who are exceptional at what they do. I have formed genuine relationships with them. I have listened to them and watched what they do. I have learned from them and continue to learn from them. I have grown, improved, and keep “getting better” every damn day because I surround myself with them 💕

Whatever it is YOU dream of doing, surround YOURSELF with the people doing it exceptionally well. Surround yourself with the amazing humans...the eternal optimists...the risk takers...the people you look up to...and as your face gets red and you curse under your breath from pushing yourself so hard, remember, YOU ARE DOING IT.

YOU ARE GROWING EVERY DAMN DAY.

...and before you know it, you may just find yourself at the front of the pack ✨
